NUSS NEWS

The last you heard from me I was frantically preparing for my still life show that opened in New York at American Painting Fine Art on November 22. After the show closed, the paintings came to the American Painting Gallery here in DC and opened a week ago. My apologies to you all for not getting this to you prior to the opening, but I was painting up until the last minute. The show will be there through March 8. I have 12 new still life paintings including the new one at right:

You will find details of this exhibition at http://www.barbaranuss.com/calendar.html.

Next Saturday I will be judging the Frederick County (MD) Art Association's show entitled Values and Contrasts. The show opens at that day at the Delaplaine Art Center.

On May 9 I will be giving a one-day workshop called a Paint-out Plus in Sykesville, MD for the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association (MAPAPA).

On my blog http://barbaranuss.blogspot.com/ are recent step-by-step demonstrations of some still life paintings that are in my show at American Painting.

Meanwhile, during this economic nadir, I will be applying to various plein air events and preparing for my participation in the Potomac River School show at Sandy Spring Museum in Sandy Spring, MD in September.

I continue as president of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, where there is always something going on. The Society, which began in 1913, has a number of exhibitions each year, and just completed one in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy with 24 important paintings of Conservancy sites.
