For the first time, I entered paintings in the Paint the Parks national competition. This event replaced the prestigious National Arts for the Parks, in which I had a number of paintings over the years. To my surprise, all three of my paintings were accepted in the TOP 100 Paint the Parks. All three are from the C&O National Historic Park.

For the remainder of the summer, I have paintings in the Washington Society of Landscape Painters exhibit at American Painting Fine Art Gallery, in the Potomac River School show at the American University Library in DC, and one in the WSLP exhibit at the University of Maryland University College. After giving my 2-day plein air workshop near Berryville VA, I was asked to return in October. I will still be giving one at the Easton Studio and School in October. For more information, go to my workshop page.

On my blog, I will be demonstrating a new painting...a still life commission from a composer. It will be lots of fun and challenging.
